HelpAge International provided training for NGOs staff from Yemen about older people and inclusion in society entitled “ Helping Older People in Emergencies (HOPE) – ToT “

The training included five Modules as following:
Module 1: Age & Its Interaction With Vulnerabilities In Humanitarian Crises
Module 2: Inclusion of Older People in Emergency Needs Assessments & SADDD
Module 3: Health, Nutrition & Community-Based Care for Older People in Humanitarian Crises
Module 4: Protection of Older People in Humanitarian Crises
Module 5: Food Security & Livelihoods Interventions for Older People in Humanitarian Crises
Start Point participated in this training through its representative in Jordan, Mr. Mahmoud Mando, who provided the first module of training on Day 1 & 2: at Sunday – Monday, from July 8 & 9, 2018.
The module 1 includes an introduction about Age & Its Interaction With Vulnerabilities In Humanitarian Crises. And the aims of the module 1 were To understand the normal process of ageing, reflect on the diversity of roles older men and women have in the Syrian/Jordanian context and the changes in roles after the start of the conflict. And to have clarity on myths and misconceptions about old age, particularly in a humanitarian crisis.And to recognize prejudice and cultural, attitudinal and environmental barriers that older people experience.
