In the city of Jisr Al-Shughour, Start Point Organization organized an exhibition entitled “Greetings to Al-Assi” in the framework of Start Point projects to enable women to express and participate in the collective narrative and to combat gender-based violence.
The exhibition included paintings of oil, charcoal and mosaic, highlighting the reality of Syrian women, exploring archaeological sites. The exhibition coincided with a 16-day campaign against violence against women.
The exhibition carried messages of hope and determination translated by artists with distinctive creative works.
A member of the Start Point team Fatima Zaidan commented on the exhibition:
“Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and we wanted to open the exhibition today as a proof of our existence and determination to continue, and our exhibition is a mosaic of paintings and oil paintings to convey a number of messages, where we presented what inside us as Syrian women are at the heart of the conflict. The exhibition will last a full day ”
“We decided through this exhibition to express our steadfastness in war and destruction,” said artist Khattam Jani, who painted the paintings.
